Researchers Reverse Aging In Lab Mice - Boston News Story - WCVB Boston: "Researchers turned off, then on, the enzyme responsible for maintaining and repairing damaged telomeres in lab mice, called telomerase. In the off stage, mice showed accelerated aging.

'They had smaller brains, impaired cognition, gray hair, infertility, even at their middle age,' said DePinho, 'but they were equivalent to someone in their eighth or ninth decade of life.'"
